Cultivating the Future: The Tuscany Regenerative Agriculture Scholarship
€ 3,000 awarded
TEF is proud to support the Climate Farmers project Tuscany Regenerative Agriculture Scholarship, aimed at contributing train a new generation of experts capable of supporting Tuscan farms in their transition towards a regenerative agricultural model that is resilient and able to withstand the impacts of climate change.
Climate Farmers is Europe’s largest regenerative farming network, whose mission is to facilitate knowledge exchange by thinking globally but acting locally.
Background
Within the Italian context, Tuscany stands out as a pioneering region: areas managed under organic farming methods currently account for approximately 36.5% of the regional agricultural surface, compared to a national average of 20.2% (CIA). However, several challenges remain, including generational renewal, as well as the need for greater supply-chain integration and improved product valorisation.
Project
The project will select a highly motivated agronomy student based in Tuscany who is eager to develop skills in regenerative agriculture. The selection will take place through a competitive process in collaboration with Tuscan universities.
The successful candidate will take part in an advanced training programme alongside an international group of farmers, agronomists, and expert consultants, combining theoretical learning with hands-on field experience. All practical activities will be carried out on a regenerative agriculture farm in Tuscany.
The scholarship will be awarded only to candidates who commit to working in Tuscany after completing the programme and who have existing ties to the region or a clearly demonstrated intention to build their professional future there, along with a strong motivation to work in regenerative agriculture.
We strongly believe this scholarship will broaden participants’ horizons while also offering a meaningful opportunity for young people, who often face significant barriers to accessing training and employment opportunities.
The selection process will start approximately in April 2026, with the training taking place from September 2026 to February 2027. Additional details will be announced soon.
