BLUEFISHERS II 🐟

After the pilot phase in Viareggio, Bluefishers has now reached Marina di Carrara. Together with Marevivo ETS and with TEF’s support, 550 reusable crates were distributed to the fishers of the Alta Marea Cooperative, replacing single-use polystyrene boxes—among the most common waste items found in our seas.
A concrete step toward reducing microplastics and building a healthier sea 💙

EDUCATIONAL GARDENS 🌳

Activities have officially started for Educational Gardens, the project by Faremo Foresta that creates educational gardens with native species in three schools across Florence, Grosseto, and Porto Azzurro.
The project teaches children to understand and respect nature, while regenerating soil, improving microclimates, and enhancing biodiversity. Here, plants are the real teachers 🌱

Special Events 🌟

ISF COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY

Over 60 children from the International School of Florence spent a full day immersed in nature: they explored the world of circular economy by learning about composting, the importance of healthy soil, and how edible mushrooms can grow from coffee grounds 🍄. They also discovered seeds, trees, and the basics of caring for the land, creating their own kokedama 🌳

We’re delighted to continue this collaboration with ISF through the Educational Gardens project 💚

A TASTE OF TUSCANY AT PETERSHAM NURSERIES

On 15 October, A Taste of Tuscany — the charity dinner organized with the wonderful support of Petersham Nurseries and our SC member Lara Boglione — brought together 130 guests who share our passion for protecting Tuscany’s natural landscapes.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we raised around £30,000, which will directly support TEF’s projects to safeguard biodiversity and restore depleted habitats.

A heartfelt thank you to all for helping us work toward a greener, more vibrant, and thriving Tuscany 🌻

OCEAN BY DAVID ATTENBOROUGH

On 15 November in Grosseto, together with the Museum of Natural History of Maremma and the Maremma Regional Park, we hosted a free screening of Ocean, followed by a roundtable discussion with the Maremma Regional Park, Legambiente, WWF Oasi di Burano, and the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.

The event drew a large audience and offered an important moment to reflect together on how to protect our seas 🌊

TEF AT RIMINI’S FUORISALONE

We took part in the panel “Naturalness of the Environment for Human Health and Beyond: The Other Voice — Third Sector for the Common Good” focused on reducing single-use plastics and promoting best practices for a more conscious cultural shift ♻️

During the event, we presented Bluefishers as a concrete example of local environmental action.
These exchanges are essential for advancing Italy toward the UN 2030 Agenda goals, particularly Goal 14 – Life Below Water 🐟
