TEF Visits Col d’Orcia: A Shared Vision for Sustainable Agriculture
Under the bright sun of late July, Tuscany Environment Foundation (TEF) had the pleasure of visiting Col d’Orcia, the historic organic estate situated on the picturesque hills overlooking the Orcia River in Montalcino.
The immersive visit began among the estate’s sprawling vineyards, where grapes are maturing ahead of the upcoming harvest, interspersed with ancient trees that frame the landscape. The tour concluded in the atmospheric cellar, home to the wooden barrels holding Col d’Orcia’s renowned, strictly organic wine.
Col d’Orcia holds the title of the largest certified organic winery in Tuscany. It stands out as an exemplary showcase of concrete, sustainable practices that deserve to be shared and celebrated across the region. As a pioneer in ecological stewardship and biodiversity protection, Col d’Orcia represents a natural ally in TEF’s mission to preserve Tuscany’s environment and agricultural heritage.
We extend our gratitude to the team at Col d’Orcia for their warm hospitality and dedication to sustainable agriculture.
Stay tuned for ongoing updates!
