Back to school soon with X-Pollination 👧🏻🌼

🌼X-Pollination is coming back to school soon!

In April and May, Silva Coop engaged children and youngsters in educational activities to raise awareness on the importance of pollinator insects for ecosystem health and our food security.

🐛To protect pollinators and regenerate their habitats, X-Pollination works together with schools and citizens through education, awareness-raising and monitoring activities in our cities.

👩‍🏫 The workshops included both classroom lessons and field practice: students learned how to recognize pollinators, understand their role in nature and collect data on their presence. With the students of Istituto Rosmini, we also discussed the impacts of climate change on pollinators’ decline and trained them to use the project’s online platform to share their observations.

🙌 In total, 6 classes were involved (2 from high schools and 4 from elementary schools), engaging almost 150 students: a first step towards raising more aware and active citizens in protecting biodiversity! 🌱
