How to create a wetland area to boost biodiversity!

The wetland work has begun with a bang!
🦎The Conservation of Sant’Antonio Forest Project funded by Tuscany Environment Foundation has begun work with volunteers from the association Gruppo Perché No? after an in-depth technical and scientific analysis.
The students worked meticulously to recover any species they encountered and relocate them to surrounding areas: earthworms, beetles, tree trunks with ants, larvae and saplings- all under expert supervision. The restoration work was predominantly carried out using hand tools, using a chainsaw only to section some felled tree trunks.
💪 Next step: dig a little further and begin spreading the natural clay.
Meanwhile, the amphibian census continues to document and identify any rare species present.
