The T.A.L.A.M.O.N.E. Project is underway! 🌿🌊

On Saturday, August 23rd, with support from Tuscany Environment, the first local outreach event of the research project on Posidonia oceanica, the “green lung of the Mediterranean,” took place.

🔬 People of all ages joined our researchers in monitoring the submerged seagrass meadows of Talamone.

🟤 With the little ones, we sampled sea balls to analyse the presence of microplastics.

🏄‍♂️ With the older participants, we adventured on paddle boards to collect seawater samples to measure pH, salinity, and temperature.

🤿 Along the coast, our researchers guided participants in their first encounter with the sea, accompanying them on a dive to perform a visual census and closely observe the marine organisms inhabiting the posidonia meadows.
