Tuscany Region: Applications now open to ban hunting on your land — deadline 30 October 2026
On 30 September 2026, the new Wildlife and Hunting Management Plan of the Tuscany Region (PFVR) was approved and published. This publication opens an opportunity for anyone wishing to protect wildlife and biodiversity on their property.
Owners and occupiers of rural land may request to ban hunting on their land by submitting an application within 30 days of the publication of the plan (official deadline: 30 October 2026).
Who can apply?
To qualify for the hunting ban, the legislation provides that the land must fall into one of the following two categories:
- Areas for wildlife conservation (at least 200 hectares of contiguous land): Land with environmental characteristics suitable for the conservation of wildlife. The minimum area of 200 hectares can also be reached by combining several adjoining properties belonging to different owners (each owner must submit their own application, linking it to the applications submitted by neighbouring owners).
- Land subject to experimental projects: Areas where scientific research, innovation, or publicly funded breeding or cultivation programmes are being carried out.
How to submit the application
The procedure is entirely digital:
- Log in to the Tuscany Region portal using SPID, CIE or CNS.
- Click on “CREATE NEW REQUEST” and search for the form “Request to ban hunting on your own rural land (Art. 25 Regional Law 3/94)”.
- Complete the required information and attach the requested documentation (a €16 stamp duty payment is required).
The Tuscany Region will notify the applicant whether the application has been accepted or rejected within 60 days of receiving it.
