Marine Conservation

The Tuscan coast and its islands are alive with an incredible variety of marine species. Yet, beneath the surface, these ecosystems are facing a wave of threats: large-scale fishing, marine litter, mass tourism, and invasive species alongside rising sea temperatures.

TEF is stepping up to protect our seas. We support hands-on projects that restore vital seagrass meadows, reduce plastic and polystyrene pollution alongside local fishers, protect local species like marine turtles, and strengthen community engagement through science-based awareness and education.
